Scrap albums. 1944-1988.

Two scrap albums containing material collected by Farebrother while he was Aide-de-camp to the Governor of South Australia, Sir Willoughby Norrie, from 1944 to 1947. There are newspaper cuttings, photographs, travel itineraries, and programs of various functions and events. The albums mainly cover the activities of the Governor, his wife, Lady Patricia Norrie, and eldest daughter Rosemary. This includes the functions they attended; visits to country areas of South Australia; and important visitors they hosted, such as the Duke of Gloucester. There is also press clipping coverage of significant state, national and world events of the time. A small amount of material has later been added to the end of the second album, probably by Captain Philip Kirkpatrick. It includes invitations to the weddings of Sarah and Annabel Norrie in the 1970s, information relating to the death of Sir Willoughby Norrie in 1977, and to the death of Farebrother himself in 1988.
